The property we offer for sale is situated in the small and quiet town of Rakitovo. Its total build up area is 80 sq. m. spread over two floors connected with internal staircase and an attic. The first floor consists of corridor, living room, kitchen and storage room and the second floor includes two bedrooms and lumber room. The house is built in the typical traditional manner all houses in the past few decades were built – brick construction with timber joists between the floors. There are 70 sources of mineral water with curative and preventive properties in and around the town. The mineral waters (from springs and wells) vary considerably in temperature, mineralization, radon, silicic acid and fluorine content, and are suitable for treatment of a wide range of diseases. 9000 litres of water per minute spring from the five thermal and mineral deposits in Ladzhene, Kamenitsa, Chepino, Rakitovo and Kostandovo. Together with the numerous mineral waters, Velingrad boasts another natural phenomenon as well — the Kleptuza, the biggest Karst spring in Bulgaria, with an average discharge of 1200 litres of ice-cold water per second. Another plus of the location of Rakitovo is it is only 10 minutes driving form Tsigov hark and Batak Resort. "Batak" resort, located in the Western Rhodopi Mountain ( http://www.seebg.net/Rodopi/indexA.html ) is an ideal spot for recreation all the year round. There are 10 000 beds available of every category. Batak ski run, with Alpine ski-run (1200m) and race ski-run (2000 m) is located here. The Alpine ski-run is equipped with three ski-lifts, one of them is auxiliary, 600 m long. Four ski-runs are to be built, tracks for snowboards (half pipes) and for motor sledges and ski-lift which is the most important project of the municipal authorities. The snow blankets lasts from November to April and the view revealing at the top of the ski-lift towards the Batak dam is really magnificent. The fulfilling of the project will turn Batak into one of the modern ski-centres in Bulgaria. A large network of recreation facilities has been built up around the dams Batak, Shiroka Polyana, Golyam Beglik and Beglika – holiday home, children’s camp, hotels, camping sites and private villas. The capacity of the new center (base) is 7292. The recreation centers are run by experienced and qualified managers but they are not used completely because of the high rate of unemployment in Bulgaria.
Rakitovo is also conveniently located only an hour and a half driving from our capital – SOFIA and an hour driving from PLOVDIV, both towns offering all modern conveniences including international airports.
